Our Work

Our Philosophy

Go the Second Mile began with the simple idea to blend travel with combating poverty. Ten years later, that simple idea has led to teams of volunteers traveling around the world to help create thriving communities.

We travel with teams from the Northwest to serve women and children in developing countries. We partner with indigenous non-profits and volunteer on community-led projects. This enables us to be culturally and economically responsible to the people we serve.

Our partners enable our teams to be immersed in the daily life of a community and to volunteer alongside local people. Blending cultural immersion with working for justice has lasting impact in the lives of the people we serve, and on our teams. Go the Second Mile participants return home empowered to fight poverty in their local neighborhood.
